Detailed description of the service: Measurement of the light absorbed by powder samples in the range 180-800 nm (visible and ultraviolet light) with a Jasco V-570 UV–Vis link spectrophotometer equipped with an NV-470 integrating sphere for working with powder samples. Based on these results, the state of already known metals in the sample is determined. This type of analysis is suitable for powder samples containing metals detectable in the visible and ultraviolet regions. The method is suitable for materials such as metal/metal oxide modified zeolites, metal oxides, metal nanoparticles and composites containing them.
Determination of specific surface area, pore size and volume, pore size distribution and heats of adsorption
Detailed description of the service: Measurement of the adsorption-desorption characteristics of solid-phase samples (powder, granules, etc.), based on which, through appropriate mathematical models, the volume of liquid nitrogen or carbon dioxide adsorbed by the sample in cm3/g, the specific surface area of the material in m2/g, the size of the micro- and mesopores, the size distribution of these pores are determined. By measuring adsorbed carbon dioxide at different temperatures, the heat of adsorption of the given sample can also be determined. This type of analysis is suitable for porous materials such as zeolites, silicates, ceramics, coals, etc. with applications such as active phase carriers, catalysts, adsorbents, membranes. The equipment provides options for operation in chemisorption mode (with H2, CO, NH3) with fully automatic operation from in-situ preparation, including switching of the gas used, flow control and furnace control (heating and cooling).
The proposed studies are conducted with an AUTOSORB iQ-C-MP-AG-AG link apparatus from Quantachrome Instruments (Anton Paar brand), USA, which has four degassing stations with the ability to heat up to 1100°C, three measuring stations and a turbomolecular pump, reaching a vacuum of < 5 x 10-10 hPa and the ability to work with various gases (N2, CO2, Ar, etc.). Thermogravimetric analysis and differential scanning calorimetry analysis at controlled temperature and environment
Detailed description of the service: Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) is applicable to solid powders or bulk matrices. The thermogravimetric analysis apparatus STA449F5 Jupiter link from NETZSCH Gerätebau GmbH allows combined TG/TG-DSC and TG-DTA measurements. The system is top-loading, using a microbalance with a vertical design and working with samples from 3 mg to 35 g and a resolution of more than 0.1 µg. The operating temperature of the furnace is up to 1600°C, with a heating rate of 0.1 to 50°C/min. The apparatus is equipped with a vacuum pump for evacuation of the working medium and can operate in different gas environments: inert, oxidizing, reducing, with automatic gas control with a built-in controller for supplying at least 2 gases, regulated by pressure and flow rate (from 5 to 250 ml/min with a resolution of 1 ml/min) simultaneously. Routine analyses include quantitative determination of volatile and carbon components, refractory residues and the degree of reduction of metal oxides. Complex methods with atmosphere change can also be performed.
